BUSY BRAIN ASSESSMENTS
Services
• Evaluation Services
Dr. Romeo offers a range of services that are customized to meet individual needs. Information about each client’s unique needs will be used to determine the assessment that will most efficiently answer your questions and produce a personalized recommendation plan.
School Neuropsychological Evaluations consist of cognitive, educational, neuropsychological and behavioral assessments. If warranted, diagnoses are provided in accordance with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders, Fifth Edition, Text Revision (DSM-5 TR). Results are integrated and recommendations for the student, family, and school are provided.
Each child and adolescent presents with unique needs and symptoms. After gathering introductory information, Dr. Romeo will advise the family regarding the type of evaluation needed to answer referral questions and inform intervention.
Individual consultation sessions with Dr. Romeo can be arranged for a variety of reasons, including when families are uncertain about the testing process (the fee is applied toward the testing if completed within 3 months of the consultation), would like to learn more about neurocognitive disorders and how they present, wish to further discuss or monitor their child’s progress, or need help understanding complex assessment results and conditions that may be impacting their child.
I strive to include parents, school staff, and medical professionals, and value their input throughout the assessment process. Evaluations may include observations and interviews with individuals who have experience working with the client. Dr. Romeo is available to advise school personnel following evaluation with the goal of assisting in the development of collaborative teams that will optimize success.
• Additional Information
The complexity of the evaluation and child characteristics such as age,
performance, and ability to sustain adequate effort over time, determines
the number and length of test sessions necessary. This can typically range
from one to three sessions. A parent feedback session is held following
testing to discuss results. A comprehensive written report will follow, and
includes an explanation of test results and tailored recommendations for
intervention strategies.
Fees are determined after evaluation needs are considered. Dr. Romeo does not accept insurance; however, an itemized statement can be provided upon request, should you wish to submit to insurance for reimbursement.
